Patio Garden Furniture - cleaning, polishing, preserving

I have been reading about patio furniture. Much of the cheaper patio furniture is made of plastic which is very easy to clean as you just wash it. It can, however, become brittle and unsafe.

Wood patio furniture lasts longer than plastic furniture but is usually more expensive, is less easy to clean and also needs more maintenance.

Much of the wood garden furniture is made of teak. Teak is a hard wood and as such is ideal for patio garden furniture. It does , however, weather to a silvery colour if mot regularly treated. Many people like this silvery effect, (I don't object to it myself) but if you treat the wood without sanding this off, it will turn black.

Heritage Woodcare is ideally suited to the regular maintenance of garden furniture. Any weathering must first be removed - a light sanding usually suffices. Take your Heritage. give your bottle a really good shake, pour some into a container, take any soft, clean cloth, soak it in your polish, squeeze and ring your cloth out, pour any remaining polish back into your bottle and you are now ready. All you do now is wipe, following the grain. Heritage Woodcare will clean and polish your wood at the same time, irrespective of the finish (matt or gloss) and, being oil based, will also help in the preservation of your wood.

You can obtain Heritage Woodcare online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-woodcare/cat_2.html
