What is the best treatment for my leather clothing and motor bike leathers?

Well, I have now introduced you to Heritage Leathercare (sometimes known as Celtic Leathercare), I have explained how to use it on upholstery, bags, boots & shoes. I am going to conclude this series by discussing clothing (jackets, trousers, skirts and motor bike leathers including gauntlets) and other uses.

Using your Heritage (Celtic) Leathercare on your clothing is much the same as using it on other leather products. Prepare your sponge (provided) in the usual way (wipe over the surface of your Leathercare and remove any surplus by wiping on the inside edge of your container) and then just wipe over your clothing in circular motions, ensuring the finish is not greasy. If it is greasy, buff it up with a soft, dry cloth. Heritage Leathercare feeds polishes, protects and cleans your leather, leaving a water resistant finish. This makes it ideal for use on motor bike leathers including your gauntlets.

Heritage leathercare is colourless and is ideal for use on wood where you do not want to change the colour. If your wood has a wax fimish, then using Heritage Leathercare will keep that finish , feeding your wood and leaving a water resistant finish.

What is the best treatment for leather bags, boots, shoes, etc

I have now introduced you to Heritage Leathercare (sometimes known as Celtic Leathercare) and explained how to use it on leather furniture and upholstery in a car and also how to use it to rewax a wax jacket.

Your leathercare is a quality product with many other uses. It is ideal for use on leather bags and cases. Again with white and similar colours you may need to clean with a damp, soapy cloth first, making sure the leather is totally dry before using your Heritage. There is no need to clean other colours! You then load your sponge (provided) by wiping over the surface of your polish and remove any surplus by wiping on the inside edge of the container. You then wipe on your handbag, suitcase, briefcase, etc. making sure the surface is not greasy. If it is, just buff up with a soft, dry cloth.

Leather boots and shoes are also ideal for treatment by Heritage Leathercare. Again white and similar colours may need cleaning first as described above, and then treat your footwear by following the above instructions for applying your Heritage Leathercare. This will leave your leather boots and shoes clean and polished with a water resistant finish.

How do I rewax a wax jacket?

I have had a number of people contacting me about rewaxing a wax jacket so, having introduced you to Heritage Leathercare, I thought now is the right time to discuss this.

It is, in fact, a comparatively simple job to do. Your first task is to make sure your jacket is clean. If there are marks, take a damp cloth, previously soaked in soapy water and wipe over the mark, this should clean your jacket although stubborn stains may present difficulty. Make sure your jacket is totally dry and you are reasy.

Using the sponge provided, load it in the usual way by wiping over the surface of your Heritage Leathercare and apply to your jacket in circular motions. Wipe over the whole of your jacket making sure it is not greasy, where it is continue wiping with your sponge.

That is the job completed!

What is the best treatment for my leather furniture?

In my last post I introduced you to Heritage Leathercare. Heritage Leathercare feeds, polishes and protects leather whilst leaving a water resistant finish and will also clean most colours. Being colourless it is suitablefor use on all colours.
Load the sponge provided by wiping across the surface of your Leathercare removing the surplus by wiping on the inside edge of your container. You then proceed to wipe on your leather, very sparingly. Your leather should not be greasy, if it is you have applied too much and will need to buff up with a soft, clean cloth.

Heritage Leathercare will clean most colours although white and similar light colours may need washing first. If you need to wash, use pure soap (Simple soap, baby soap, soap flakes, Dreft), dry thoroughly after washing, then use your Heritage.

Heritage leathercare is suitable for use on leather furniture, car seats, clothing, boots and shoes, bags and cases (suitcases, briefcases, etc.) and can be used on all colours.

What is the best treatment for my leather furniture?

Looking around, I can't help noticing how leather seems to be increasing in popularity. A growing number of hotels, restaurants, doctors surgeries, cars, domestic furniture suppliers, etc. seem to be using leather upholstery. Whilst this may be bad news for cows and bulls, it is good news for Heritage as all this leather needs to be cared for and there is nothing better than Heritage Leathercare!

Made by Drigate Products in their Dublin facility, Heritage Leathercare is based on an updated Victorian recipe which means it has stood the test of time. In addition to feeding and conditioning your leather and cleaning most colours, Heritage Leathercare will polish, protect and leaves a water resistant finish.

Heritage leathercare is very easy to use. The most important thing to remember is to use it very sparingly so that the finish is not greasy. If it is you will need to buff up, otherwise buffing should not be necessary.

How do I remove nicotine from wood furniture?

Hello everyone. I have been away for a few days, having got offered a good deal in Malta. It was a pleasant break, nice to get away from the snow.

I have had a question from someone who has inherited an antique rocking chair from her grandfather. Apparently he was a heavy smoker and the chair, not having been cleaned for over 20 years has a nicotine grime covering it. My reader has been using a proprietary cleaner but is finding this is hard work and slow going. What she wanted to know is whether Heritage Woodcare will be any better.

Removing nicotine grime is the same as any other grime. Prepare your cloth in the usual way - give your bottle a really good shake, pour some into a container, take any soft and clean cloth, soak in your polish, squeeze and wring your cloth out, pour any remaining polish in the container back into your bottle and just wipe. You may need several applications to remove the buildup completely with the chair going streaky as the buildup is removed. No hard work is necessary and you do not need to do vigorous rubbing nor do you need to buff up.

Heritage Woodcare has many uses being ideal for use on wood furniture, wood flooring (natural and laminate) and in the kitchen. It is ideal for use in hotels, guest houses, stately homes, churches as well as in the domestic envonment.

How can I keep myself warm and get drug free pain relief?

Well the snow and ice continue and the temperatures remain very cold. Heating bills go up to compensate, or , at least mine will. One way to keep warm will be to use your Microwarm Heatwrap - mine is on overtime as it means I can warm parts of me that the heating doesn't reach and before your mind also goes on overtime, I am particularly thinking of my feet!

In my last post I introduced you to the Microwarm Heatwrap. There are two other products in the Microwarm range I will now tell you about. First there is the Microwarm "Cushion" During manufacture, the fabric is folded in such a way as to produce a "cushion" shape rather than the traditional Heatwrap shape. This makes it very suitable for knees, backs, stomachs, etc.The heating instructions are the same as the traditional Heatwraps i.e. remove from packaging. heat on high for 2 to 3 minutes depending on the power of the microwave (800 watts 2 minutes, 650 watts 3 minutes) with the "cushion" holding the heast for 1 - 1.5 hours.

Lastly there us the Microwarm Handwarmer, Manufactured to be held comfortably in the hand, your Handwarmer will hold the heat for 30 -45 minutes, longer if you insulate them by putting them in your pockets or gloves. The size also makes them suitable for giving relief from tooth ache, ear ache, etc.

All Microwarm products are available online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/paston-crafts/cat_3.html

How can I keep myself warm and relieve aches and pains?

Well readers, I don't know what it is like with you but here it is snowing again, adding to what fell yesterday. It is also very cold and what I need is something to keep me warm. This is where those nice people at Paston Crafts can help. Have you tried their Microwaveable Heatwraps? They are brilliant at warming you up as I know from personal experience. I regularly used them at outdoor craft events and also kept my cold colleagues warm using my demonstration wraps. I found it particularly helpful to drape the wrap round my neck as a warm back seemed to warm the rest of me up. I also found the wrap great fot warming up cold feet! Handmade from treated wheat grains, they are also recommended by doctors, physiotherapists, hospitals, osteopaths, etc. to relieve aches and pains.

Take your Heatwrap and microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes depending on the power (800 watts heat for 2 minutes. 650 watts heat for 3 minutes).Lay it across the area where you have aches and pains for drug free pain relief. Your Heatwrap will retain heat for up to 90 minutes. From personal experience, I found the heatwrap great for giving relief from back pain.

You can also use your Heatwrap to warm yourself up. I found the best way was to drape the heated Heatwrap round my neck but other people used them in different ways,

They are also great for use as hot water bottles and much safer as you don't use boiling water to fill them. It is recommended to use them 5 or 6 times before using them in bed in order to dry the grains out first.

What one product cleans my car, caravan, hard plastics, etc?

Well, I have introduced you to Heritage Woodcare and have told you how to use it on wood fkoors, wood furniture and in your kitchen. I will conclude this series of posts about Heritage Woodcare by telling you about some other uses.

Did you know you can use it in your car? It is ideal for use on the dashboard, cleaning and polishing vinyl, wood veneers, etc. Having sorted out the interior, Heritage Woodcare is also ideal for use on the bodywork.Wash your car in the usual way, let it dry, prepare your cloth and wipe, you do not need to buff up!
Having used it on your car, you can also use Heritage Woodcare in your caravan in the same way.

Heritage Woodcare is also ideal for use on hard plastics - tv's. computers, etc. Again prepare your cloth in the usual way and wipe. I also wipe the screens but do need to buff up. I find that Heritage Woodcare has anti-static properties and remains dust free for about a week. N.B. Heritage Woodcare is NOT recommended for use on plasma screens.

How can I clean my kitchen

First of all, I wish all my readers a happy and prosperous 2010

In my recent posts, I have told you how to use Your Heritage Woodcare to clean and polish your wood floors and furniture. It does have many more uses though than just floors and furniture.

It is brilliant in your kitchen Use it on all the cupboards to remove the build-up of grease - prepare your cloth in the normal way and just wipe. Should there be a heavy build-up (on cooker hoods, etc.), squeeze your cloth out but don't wring it out, wipe over the cooker hood last thing at night. do this for about a week and having allowed the oils to penetrate the grease, you will be able to just wipe it off.
Also use your Heritageto clean and polish your white goods. Prepare your cloth in the normal way and just wipe, you do not need to buff up.
