Problems and customer care

What an array of weather we have had recently. Rain, high winds and dull most of the time, but then we get days like yesterday with a fair amount of sun. Still, we can't really moan. We don't get the extreme weather conditions that are experienced in some parts of the world. The current problems in the Philippines is just one example of these extremes of weather and here in the Midlands we even seem to escape the worst of the weather we do get! Well, now I have had my little gripe, I ought to get down to business. I am having some trouble with the website www.heritagepolish.com I don't know what the original cause was (my IT guy said it was because there was some conflict on the site due to the new international agreements on weights of liquids but I really don't know enough about computers and the web to be able to reconcile this) Anyway if I can ask my customers to temporarily use the other sites I have - for woodcare go to www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk or for leathercare go to www.heritageleathercare.co.uk - this will enable you to answer any queries or to make your purchase. I assure all my customers I have asked my IT guy to look into the problems but I do know he is very busy at the moment. I also want to reassure you that I still take pride in offering the highest standards of customer care I can.

Keeping warm and getting drug free pain relief with Microwarm Heatwraps

Isn't it a lovely morning. It is a bit cloudy but the sun is there, somewhere. The warm temperatures are still continuing although it does get chilly in the evenings. That brings me to what I wanted to tell you about. How do I KEEP WARM AND GET RELIEF FROM PAIN? Sometimes caring for yourself goes more than skin deep and the weather turning a bit colder doesn't help. MICROWARM HEATWRAPS made by Paston Crafts can take care of those deeper aches and pains. At DCK Services we stock the full range of their Heatwraps and Handwarmers that are stuffed with wheat and aromatic herbs. We also stock their range of relaxing Eye Masks and Herbal Cushions. MICROWARM HEATWRAPS They contain English wheat and are available unfragranced or with either lavender or a mix of aromatic herbs. They can be used hot or cold for the relief of pain as both heat and cold can give drug free pain relief. To use hot simply pop into the microwave for up to two minutes (depends on wattage) or to use cold put into a sealable plastic container or bag and leave in the freezer for up to three hours. Either way you just apply to the affected area for deep and soothing relief. I can RECOMMEND THESE from personal experience. They do work! I have gained relief from pain, particularly backache, by using the Heatwraps and, at shows, have had many people extolling their virtues. I have also used them to keep myself warm when doing outdoor shows. Additionally I regularly take one to bed as my feet get very cold and stop me getting to sleep. They really are good! They are available online, visit http://heritagepolish.com/shop/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=2

Paston Crafts - Self Heating / Heat Retaining Cushions

Well now, I am back from my holiday. I have been to Gran Canaria for a week with my wife and my daughter and family.he weather was great - generally very hot although it did cloud over in the afternoon for the last three days which was helpful as it reduced the temperature a little. Didn't do much, just chilled out and relaxed. Back to earth now though! IN MY LAST POST I told you about Paston Crafts, another family business, also based in Coventry that manufactures craft products in fabric. I told you about their microwavable warming products - Microwarm Heatwraps and Handwarmers. They also make a SELF HEATING / HEAT RETAINING CUSHION. Now, as the weather has turned a bit colder is when these Self Heating / Heat Retaining Cushions come their own. It is quite chilly when you get in the car first thing in the morning and you really feel the benefit sitting on one of these cushions. Another use it to put them under your jumper when you go out. They look a bit bulky buy they do work and do keep your back warm. They are also very good if you are in a wheelchair. I know from personal experience how cold they can get. Using two of them, one to sit on and one at your back really does help to keep you warm. Another use is to use them for your PETS.I use one for my cat. She heads straight for it when she goes into the utility room at night. It is in front of the radiator so she gets nice and warm in there. They are suitable for both cats and dogs but I recommend putting the cushion under a an old towel or something similar for dogs. Can you think of other uses that will help to keep you warm. Do let me know. BUYING BOTH PRODUCTS ONLINE Both products can be bought online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/paston-crafts/cat_3.html

Paston Crafts / Microwarm Heatwraps / Paston Handwarmers

Have you been on holiday yet? We have spent time away from home visiting my children but haven't yet had an actual holiday. In previous years we have managed time away, if only having a few days in a Travelodge, etc. We are due to spend a week in Turkey next month and I am looking forward to the break. Now that the weather has changed and turned a lot colder it is, perhaps, time to take a look at some of the products made by Paston Crafts. Also, with Christmas fast approaching, don't forget they make excellent presents. PASTON CRAFTS Paston Crafts is a family run business based in Coventry. They manufacture a range of fabric and knitted products with their best sellers being Microwarm Heatwraps and Handwarmers. These are stuffed with wheat and aromatic herbs and can keep you warm even in the coldest of weathers as I know from personal experience, having used them to keep warm when demonstrating at outdoor shows in winter. MICROWARM HEATWRAPS Microwarm Heatwraps are microwaved for up to 3 minutes, depending on the power of your microwave. They then stay hot for up to 1 - 1.5 hours and have many uses. The heated heatwrap can then be applied to aches and pains which gives gentle heat treatment. This Treatment is drug free pain relief! The Heatwrap can also be used if you are cold and need to warm yourself up and can also be placed in bed and used as a "hot water bottle" They are safer than the conventional hot water bottle as you don't have boiling water around and they won't leak. water into your bed. PASTON HANDWARMERS When I was exhibitting at shows customers sometimes asked if there was a smaller version to hold in your hands. So the Handwarmer was born. Hand-warmers use the same principles as Heatwraps but are smaller, being designed for to be held in your hands. These are microwaved for only 30 seconds and will retain heat for up to 30 - 45 minutes, longer if you insulate them by putting them in your pockets or gloves. They are also ideal for drug free relief from toothache and ear ache. BUYING BOTH PRODUCTS ONLINE Both products can be bought online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/paston-crafts/cat_3.html

Apology, Autumn Show,, Heritage Woodcare and Heritage Leathercare

APOLOGY First of all, an apology to my readers. I notice that my blog no longer has paragraphs. I don't know why. No matter how often I edit to try to restore paragraphes, it doesn't happen. So there you are. I apologise. AUTUMN SHOW I went to the Autumn Show at the NEC yesterday. It seems to be much smaller this year or is it my imagination. There only seemed to be 5 halls this year, I am sure there were more last year. Is it a sign of the times? Are companies cutting down on their expenditure for this type of marketing? It is, after all very expensive to market your goods at this type of event, particularly at somewhere like the NEC. I know, I exhibited at shows for many years! HERITAGE WOODCARE For some reason I have recently had a sudden influx of orders for 2litre Heritage Woodcare from overseas. This was despite a note on the website to say that due to International Postal Regulations, I am unable to send more than 500mls outside the UK. Such is life! HERITAGE POLISHES Since my return to blogging I have told you a great deal about Heritage products - who makes them and where. how to use them, etc. I have also told you much about my busines - packaging, how I try to keep my prices down, policy on comments, etc. Trying to think of new topics for this blog is very difficult if I don't want to repeat myself. I have had an interesting discussion with a lady from Austalia over the past few days about a much loved leather handbag which culminated in her buying Heritage Leathercare. I will be posting about it on the blog pages of www.heritageleathercare.co.uk so keep watching for it. BUY HERITAGE PRODUCTS Knowing that my readers appreciate an easy life (and who doesn't) I will give you the links to visit so that you can buy the products you need. Policy on comments

Having not been posting on my blog for some time I thought it might be useful and informative to reitterate my policy on comments. I currently have about 150 comments all awaiting moderation and all anonymously posted! If the person making the comment does not identify themselves, ie makes an anonymous post, I will not publish it, no matter what the content of the comment is. If you want me to publish your comment, identify yourself. I welcome feedback, positive and negative, and promise to publish all comments as long as I, and preferably my readers, know who is making the comment. Feedback helps me to give a better service to my readers, especially negative feedback as, in those cases, I can help put a problem right or, a new problem has been identified which means that the manufacturer and myself need to find an answer. One problem is seach engine optimisation. I know that placing your website address on other peoples sites helps with rankings. I do it myself but I always identify myself which gives the site owner more information when it comes to deciding whether to publish any comments. So, to sum it up, when making a comment that you want read and published, identify yourself otherwise the comment will be deleted unread! Having got that off my chest and knowing that my readers appreciate an easy life (and who doesn't) I will give you the links to visit so that you can buy the products you need. For the full range of products stocked by DCK Services visit http://heritagepolish.com/shop/index.php If you want woodcare, visit http://www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk/products-page/ or http://heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-woodcare/cat_2.html If you want leathercare vist http://www.heritageleathercare.co.uk/buy-leathercare/ or http://heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-leathercare/cat_4.html

How I began selling Heritage Woodcare and Heritage Leathercare

I don't know f I have ever told you how I started selling Heritage Polishes. If I have, please forgive me for repeating myself. It all started way back in the annals of history - alright it was, I think about June / July 1998. At the time I had a very small business selling and delivering petfood in addition to a full time job. One day I got into conversation with the manufacturer of Heritage Polishes and, for some reason we started talking about shows. I knew that at the time he wasn't doing much in the way of shows in England so suggested that he looked at my local show - the Town and Country Show held at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire. What he said next has changed my life. He said "Why don't you do it Jim? So I did! I booked the show using my credit card. Chris said that an existing distributor had had to pull out so he would arrange for the stock to be sent to me and would come to the Show to demonstrate to me how to sell the polish. He was as good as his word and I got home from work one day to find my hall full of boxes of polish. That is when it hit me what I had agreed to and I panicked - My finances would not allow me to not succeed. Anyway Chris came as agreed and showed me how to sell the polish. The first day was so successful that I was able to pay for the stand. The second day I doubled my first days takings and was close to running out of polish so I had to dash to London to meet the distributor and collect the remaining stock he had left. The third day of the show I tripled my first dsys sales. All in all it was a fantastic show and I knew I had a winner. Later I learned that my closest competitor had had a very poor show taking less than one third of his target figure and probably only just covering his costs and making no profit! To find out more about this winner visit www.heritagepolish.com or www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk or www.heritageleathercare.co.uk

Two different products with the same underlying philosophy

I have now introduced you to both Heritage Woodcare and Heritage Leathercare, two different products but with the same underlying philosophy i.e. to be the best in their field. Heritage Woodcare cleans and polishes at the same time, taking off all the buildup of silicones, waxes, grease and grime and will also take off most ring marks, heat marks and water marks. Whilst it is ideal for use on wood floors and wood furniture it can also be used in the kitchen plus many other uses which I will cover in future blogs. Heritage Leathercare feeds and polishes leather, will clean most colours and leaves a water resistant finish. It is ideal for use on leather furniture, car upholstery, clothing and footwear. Like it's sister product for wood, it does also have other uses which I again will cover in future blogs. Heritage Woodcare can be bought online, visit www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk. Heritage Leathercare can also be bought online, visitwww.heritageleathercare.co.uk

Heritage Leathercare

I am now established on my return to blogging and in my last post I told you about Heritage Woodcare so in this post I want to tell you about it's sister product,  Heritage Leathercare

Like it's sister product,,  Heritage Woodcare, Heritage Leathercare  is made in Dublin by Drigate Products (Mfg)  Ltd.. which is  a  family owned  company based in Dublin. They are committed to manufacturing and supplying the very best traditional cleaning and nurturing products to look after your wood and leather goods  Heritage Woodcare and Heritage Leathercare are both based on Victorian craftsman's recipes containing old fashioned tried and tested ingredients that have been updated, using modern technology, to enable them to cope with 21st century developments. Heritage Leathercarecare is another example of their approach to only bring the very best products to your attention.

So what is it? Heritage Leathercare is a traditional 19th century leather balsam containing original, old fashioned ingredients including beeswax. These are well known in the trade for protecting and revitalising the leather used in leathercraft (and indeed the stitching). Many craftspeople and professionals will vouch for its tried and tested formula. The results obtained with Heritage Leathercare are instantaneous and long lasting and, whilst newer leather products benefit from a shine and protection unsurpassed by modern polishes not containing our ingredients older, tired leather is left revitalised and more supple! Heritage Leathercare is generally regarded as one of the most economical on the market in this day and age

You can obtain Heritage Leathercare online online, visit http://www.heritageleathercare.co.uk/buy-leathercare or  www.heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-leathercare/cat_4.html

Introducing Heritage Woodcare

Hello to my readers. I have told you about the changes that have happened during my absence and also how I try to keep my costs down, Now I had better tell you about Heritage Woodcare.

.Heritage Woodcare is made in Dublin by Drigate Products (Mfg)Ltd, a  family company based in Dublin. They are committed to manufacturing and supplying the very best traditional cleaning and nurturing products to look after your wood and leather goods Heritage Woodcare and Heritage Leathercare are both based on Victorian craftsman's recipes containing old fashioned tried and tested ingredients but updated, using modern technology, to cope with 21st century developments. Heritage Woodcare is an example of their approach to bringing the very best products to your attention.

Heritage Woodcare is one such twentyfirst century product based as I have said on a tried and tested recipe that is centuries old and was known only by the grand masters of the furniture crafts. The competition for perfection in the cleaning, polishing, and preservation of wooden furniture between these rival grandmasters can still be seen today when looking at many priceless antiques. In order, to get the desired results, these grandmasters would spend hours, sometimes days, working on a single  item .Few people today have the time, or the patience, of these grandmasters, so after much research, and backed up by modern technology, this centuries old recipe has been updated to produce Heritage Woodcare. which gives the same outstanding results in a fraction of the time.

Heritage Woodcare is very easy to use and has a variety of uses. In future blogs I will tell you more about it and also about its sister product, Heritage Leathercare. Both products can be bought online. For Heritage Woodcare visit www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk and for Heritage Leathercare visit www.heritageleathercare.co.uk

Keeping costs low - Heritage Woodcare and Heritage Leathercare

Having announced my return to blogging in my last post, I thought I ought to share with my readers what else I do to keep my costs down thus avoid having to pass on ever increasing costs.

I have told you that all my parcels are double wrapped in bubble wrap and then double bagged for protection What I didn't say is that all my bubble wrap and most of my bags come from local supermarkets. This helps them as they do not have to pay to have it taken away and helps me as it is comes free. Also all the cardboard I use also comes from the same source and has the same advantages. So, apart from my time, my materials come free which means I keep my costs and my prices  as low as I can

So remember that when you order (Woodcare from www.heritagepolish.com/wood.html http://www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk/products-page/ and Leathercare from www.heritagepolish.com/leather.html or http://www.heritageleathercare.co.uk/buy-leathercare/ ) I have kept my prices as low as I can.

I'm back! Heritage Polishes - Woodcare & Leathercare

I'm back!  After a long absence I'm back and ready to go. So what has happened in my absence? I think the major change has been to the postal system  This has meant some changes

The first change to mention is charges. Due to the increase in postage I have made two changes to avoid passing these increases on. I now use second class post for 500ml Woodcare and 250/500 ml Leathercare. For all other sizes I now use a courier - Hermes. This means deliveries can now take up to 3-4 working days after posting.

The second change is that I can no longer post more than 500 mls Woodcare outside the UK For that matter Royal Mail will now  only accept up to 500 mls. to post within the UK but I had already accommodated that change by using Hermes

All parcels sent by post and Hermes are double wrapped in bubble wrap and then double bagged. Hermes deliveries are also double boxed.

Don't forget you can order online. Heritage Woodcare  can be ordered either at www.heritagepolish.com  or www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk and Heritage Leathercare also   at www.heritagepolish.com or www.heritageleathercare.co.uk

Using Paston Craft's Self Heating / Heat Retaining Cushions to keep warm when using a wheelchair.

I am sure that, like us, you have had some snow accompanied by cold temperatures. This is when the Self Heating / Heat Retaining  Cushions by Paston Crafts hold their own. I told you about using them in the car in my last post. Another use it to put them under your jumper when you go out. They look a bit bulky buy do work and do keep your back warm.

They are also very good if you are in a wheelchair. I know from personal experience how cold they can get. Using two of them, one to sit on and one at your back really do help  to keep you warm.

Can you think of other uses that will help to keep you warm. Do let me know.

I also asked you if you had tried Heritage Leathercare in my last post. Did you know that the Heritage brand extends to woodcare as well? Check it out at www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk or buy it from  http://www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk/products-page/

Self Heating / Heat Retaining Cushions by Paston Crafts

Well, it is all over now! Christmas is over. We are in to the New Year and it is no longer new. Even the mild spell is over and it is getting colder, so, as I say, it is all over now!
