How can I clean and polish my wood furniture and floors

Recently I have told you how to clean and polish wood floors using Heritage Woodcare. Heritage Woodcare is a long established polish with many uses other than cleaning and polishing wood floors.

Manufactured in their Dublin facility by Drigate Products, Heritage Woodcare is based on a traditional 19th Century recipe that was known only to the grandmasters of the furmiture trade. Thanks to much research, helped by enlightened technology, this recipe has now been updated to make it suitable for modern materials.

It is used exactly the same as for your wooden floors. Take your bottle and give it a good shake, pour some into a container, soak any soft, clean cloth in your polish, squeeze and wring your cloth out and pour what is left in your container back into your bottle. You are now ready and all you have to do is wipe!
Heritage Woodcare works by taking off all the build-up of silicones, waxes, grease and grime and will also take off most white marks, ring marks and water marks.A heavy build-up of polish and the previously mentioned marks may require more than one application but maintenance cleaning is accomplished in one application and does not require buffing up.
This makes it simpler and easier than wax polishes and so much more versatile.Heritage Woodcare is suitable for use on wood furniture as well as wood floors.

How do I clean and polish my wood floors?

In my last post I told you what to use to clean and polish your wood floors. I recommended Heritage Woodcare(this is sometimes known as Celtic Woodcare) and said that I will tell you how to use it and also where you can buy it.

To use it is very easy. First of all you need to sweep your floor to remove all the loose bits. Give your bottle a really good shake, pour some into a container, take any soft, clean cloth, soak it in your polish, squeeze and wring your cloth out and return any polish in your container to your bottle. You are now ready, put your cloth on the bottom of a brush or mop and wipe. It is as simple as that. Wipe over all the floor, paying special attention to marks. When you have done all the floor you have finished. You do not need to dry or buff up! That is the job done! I said it was easy.

How do I clean and polish my wood floors?

Are you, like me, feeling that now that all the visitors have gone or are about to go, we can now get down to doing all the clearing up. Whilst I have enjoyed the Christmas break and being surrounded by my family, it is going to be great to get back to "normal"

The first jobs I need to do are the floors. There is not goimg to be much of a problem in doing them. Basically it is a question of motivation. The kitchen floor is tiled so I will scrub that and dry it as I go along. No problems but a bit of time and oomph!

The lounge and hall floors should take less time even though there is more area. Being wood parquet floors , it is a question of sweeping to remove all the loose bits and then using my Heritage Woodcare.
In my next post, I will tell you how to go about using it and where you can get it!

How can I keep warm in cold weather and relieve aches and pains?

Have you been following the weather forecasts? We are about to have a return of the cold snap we had before Christmas and means we will need to keep ourselves warm. This is where those nice people at Paston Crafts come in with their Heat Retaining Cushions and their Microwarm Heatwraps

Are you outdoors at all or needing something warm to sit on? Try the Heat Retaining Cushions, These are also called Self Heating Cushions. These work by retaining the body's own heat. effectively insulating the body. You can sit on them, use them at your back or neck or. what a lot of people do, put them underneath your jumper when you go out to keep your back warm. They can be used on the go as these are NOT microwaved so use them in your car or caravan, or on long coach journeys. You can also use them at home and because they are so light, you can use them in aircraft.

Have you tried the Microwarm Heatwraps? These are recommended by physiotherapists, doctors, osteopaths etc. You need to heat your heatwrap in your microwave on full power for 2 or 3 minutes depending on the power of your microwave. If you are cold these will really keep you warm and are often used by exhibitors at outdoor events for that purpose. I did that myself and my demonstration Heatwraps were always being asked for by my colleagues. You can also use them if you have aches and pains. Having heated your heatwrap, apply it to where you have aches, etc. and the heatwrap gives you gentle heat treatment which is drug free pain relief. Another way to use your heatwrap is in bed instead of a hot water bottle. Not only is it safer than a hot water bottle as you do not need to fill with boiling water but it will retain heat for longer

what is the best and easiest way to clean and polish my wood furniture and floors? part three

I have now introduced you to Heritage Woodcare (also known as Celtic Woodcare) and have told you how to use it. In this post I am going to tell you where to use it!

As it's name implies, Heritage Woodcare is ideal for wood so use it on wood furniture, wood floors (laminate and natural), wood panelling on walls, banister rails, etc. Heritage Woodcare cleans, polishes, conditions and protects your wood! You can, in fact, use it on any wood product that has been treated (painted, varnished, waxed, oiled, french polished, etc) , it is not recommended for use on untreated wood.

Heritage Woodcare is ideal for use in your kitchen as it removes grease, grime and water marks. Use it regularly on your cupboards, cooker hood etc. and your kitchen will remain grease free and clean. If you have a build-up of grease (on your cooker hood, etc.), when preparing your cloth, squeeze it out but don't wring it out. Apply to the grease last thing at night, do this for about a week and your Heritage will penetrate and soften the grease and will just wipe it off.

Heritage Woodcare is also ideal for cleaning, polishing and protecting marble

Hard plastics (tv's, computers, UPVC windows, etc) Heritage Woodcare is ideal for use on hard plastics as it cleans and polishes hard plastics. You can also use it on tv and monitor glass screens but will need to buff up afterwards. Do NOT use on plasma screens

Heritage Woodcare is also ideal for use on painted metal (car bodies, kitchen white goods, etc.) Do ensure that car bodywork has been washed in order to remove gravel and other sharp objects prior to using Heritage to prevent scratching,

What is the best and easiest way to clean and polish my wood furniture and floors? part 2

In my previous post I introduced you to Heritage Woodcare.

Made by Drigate Products in their Dublin facility, Heritage Woodcare (sometimes known as Celtic Woodcare) is a superb product and is very easy to use. You simply take your bottle, give it a really good shake, pour some polish into a container, soak your soft, clean cloth in the polish, squeeze and wring your cloth out and return what is left in your container back into the bottle. Then you just wipe and do not need to buff up.

Heritage Woodcare takes off the build-up of silicones, waxes, grease and grime and will also remove most white heat marks, ring marks and water marks. If there is a heavy build-up,more than one application may be needed. In the case of water marks, etc. wipe the whole surface of your furniture to keep it even. Do this 2 or 3 times per week for 2 or 3 weeks and you should see some movement in the marks.

Heritage Woodcare is ideal for use on wood furniture, wood floors. kitchens, etc.

What is the best and easiest way to clean and polish my wood furniture and floors?

Recently I have been telling you about Heritage Leathercare. In this post I will tell you about it's "sister" product, Heritage Woodcare

Heritage Woodcare is a twenty-first century superior product based on a nineteenth century secret formula known only to the grandmasters of the furniture crafts. The constant searching for absolute perfection in the preservation, cleaning and polishing of wooden furniture between rival grandmasters can still be seen today when looking at many priceless antiques. In order to get the desired result, these grandmasters would spend hours and sometimes days working on a single article.

Few people today have the time or patience of these grandmasters so after much comprehensive research, helped by enlightened technology this age-old formula has been updated to produce Heritage Woodcare, giving the same outstanding results in a fraction of the time.

How do I clean and rewax a wax jacket?

I have been contacted by a customer asking for information on rewaxing a wax jacket. Apparently his jacket is showing its age but is comfortable and he would like to be able to carry on using it.

This is a comparatively simple job. If the jacket has marks on it, take a damp cloth soaked in soapy water and wipe. This should clean your jacket. Make sure your jacket is completely dry, take your sponge (provided), load by wiping over the surface of your Heritage Leathercare, remove any surplus by wiping on the edge of your container and then apply to your jacket by wiping in circular motions. Apply very sparingly.
Your jacket will be clean and rewaxed and will remain water resistant.

What is the best and easiest way to look after my leather (part three)

Having now introduced you to Heritage Leathercare (sometimes known as Celtic Leathercare) and told you how to use it I thought I should tell you where to use it. The obvious start is leather furniture.

Furniture Leather seating, whether in a domestic setting, semi-domestic setting (care homes, etc.) or a commercial setting (hotels, etc.) will all benefit from the use of Heritage Leathercare, the only difference will be in how often it is used. In a family setting, it is recommended that your Heritage is applied 3 or 4 times per year. However, where the furniture is likely to come in for heavier use, then your Heritage will need to be used more frequently, monthly or even weekly, especially where the look of the furniture is important (hotels, office foyers, etc.) As the polish is colourless, it can be applied to any colour.

Car upholstery Heritage Leathercare is ideal for use on leather upholstery.Use more frequently than domestic furniture due to more rapid fluctuations in temperature, about 4 to 6 times per year. If your leather is tired and neglected, initially you will have to use your Heritage more frequently, weekly for the first few weeks, then monthly for the next 3 months before moving to the normal maintenance programme.

Clothing (including motor cycle leathers) Heritage Leathercare is highly recommended for these items. Use as often as required, especially with leathers as the cleaning and water resistance is important.

Boots and Shoes Again Heritage Leathercare is highly recommended. Use as often as required. Cleaner and quicker than conventional polishes.

Bags, handbags and suitcases (etc.) highly recommended.

Wood Heritage Leathercare is recommended for use on wood where a colourless polish is needed. (wooden armrests on leather furniture, etc) Requires buffing up after application.

Heritage Leathercare is NOT recommended for use on SUEDE, NUBUCK or NAPPA leathers

Heritage Leathercare can be obtained online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-leathercare/cat_4.html

What is the best and easiest way to look after my leather? (part two)

In my last post I introduced you to Heritage Leathercare (sometimes known as Celtic Leathercare)
Heritage Leathercare is a wonderful product that cleans (most colours), feeds, polishes and protects leather, leaving a water resistant finish and is so easy to use.

Take the sponge provided and load by wiping across the surface of your Leathercare. You then just wipe your leather in circular motions, making sure that your Leathercare has been applied sparingly and has not left a greasy finish, If the finish is greasy you will need to buff up, otherwise there is no need to. That is the job finished!
On white and similar colours you may need to wash your leather first. Using pure soap (Simple soap, baby soap, soap flakes, etc.), clean off any build-up. Make sure your leather is totally dry and then wipe as per the instrictions.

Heritage Leathercare leaves your leather more supple and with a shine and protection unsurpassed by many modern polishes not containing our traditional ingredients.

What is the best and easiest way to look after my leather?

I have just been looking online at leather products. There are some wonderful items out there, beautiful and practical! However, they all have one thing in common, irrespective of product and price - to get the best out of leather you need to look after it, feed it, clean it, condition it. That way your leather will continue to serve you and you will extend the life of your item.
Nothing does this better than Heritage Leathercare (sometimes known as Celtic Leathercare)

Made in their Dublin facility by Drigate Products, Heritage Leathercare is a traditional 19th Century leather balsam, containing original, old fashioned ingredients (including beeswax) and is well known in the trade for revalising and protecting leather (and also the stitching)
Due to its ease of use and outstanding results, many craftspeople and professionals connected with the leather trade (car enthusiasts, book restorers, furniture dealers. butlers, etc.) testify to it's tried and tested formula.

Results obtained with Heritage Leathercare are instantaneous and long lasting, leaving old, tired leather revitalised and supple.Newer leather products also benefit, keeping that "as new" look and suppleness for longer and having a shine and protection unsurpassed by many modern polishes not containing our traditional ingredients.

Self Heating Cushions and Japanese Eye Masks - ideal Christmas gifts

Well, readers, you only have 25 days left now!

Let me tell you about two more products made by Paston Crafts that make excellent gifts and can help solve your problems.

Heat Retaining Cushions (also called Self Heating Cushions). These work by retaining the body's own heat, effectively insulating the body. Heat is not applied to these cushions so, whilst not getting as hot as the Heatwraps, they are ideal for use where you don't have access to a microwave and as you don't heat them, you cannot damage them by overheating, so they will last a long time. You can sit on them, you can use them as a back rest or neck rest and some people put them under jumpers when going out in cold weather to keep their backs warm! Heat retaining Cushions are ideal for use when travelling. camping or fishing, in the home, outdoor events, etc.

Japanese Eye Masks soothe and relax tired, aching eyes. Remove from the plastic bag and squeeze. This releases oils and fragrances that, when laid over tired, aching eyes, really do relax and soothe them. Keep in the fridge in the resealable bag in which they are supplied and this helps to keep them fresh and cool, ready for use.

Microwavable Heatwraps and Handwarmers - Ideal Christmas gifts!

Today there is now only 27 days remaining. I still need to do some shopping, do you? If you are still stuck for ideas, check out Paston Crafts.

Paston Crafts is a Coventry based craft company producing hand-crafted fabric products

Their best seller is the Heatwrap. This is microwaved for up to 3 minutes, depending on the power of your microwave. The heat is retained for up to 1 - 1.5 hours. The warmed heatwrap is then applied to aches and pains and this gives gentle heat treatment which is drug free pain relief. you can also use the heatwrap if you are cold and need to warm yourselfup. You can also use it in bed as a "hot water bottle" - it is safer than a hot water bottle as you don't have boiling water around and it won't leak.

Hand-warmers use the same principles as Heatwraps but are smaller, being designed for to be held in your hands. These are microwaved for only 30 seconds and will retain heat for up to 30 - 45 minutes, longer if you insulate them by putting them in your pockets or gloves. They are also ideal for drug free relief from toothache and ear ache.

Heritage Leathercare, the easy way to look after your leather

Continuing on my theme of Heritage Leathercare, in this post I am going to tell you how to use your polish.

It is really very simple. Load your sponge (provided - you can use a soft cloth if you prefer) by wiping over the surface of the polish, remove any surplus polish by wiping on the edge of your container and then wipe over your leather. N.B. use very sparingly, your leather should not be greasy. That is all you do.

Heritage Leathercare feeds, polishes, protects and leaves a water resistant finish whilst giving your leather a lasting and brilliant shine. Should your leather have a mat finish, this shine will fade back to mat! It is colourless so can be used on any colour.

Heritage Leathercare is ideal for use on leather furniture and car seats, motor cycle leathers and leather clothing in general, boots and shoes, bags, suitcases, etc. It can, in fact, be used on any leather product although it is not recommended for use on suede, nubuck or nappa leathers.

What cleans and polishes leather?

In this post, I thought I would take another look at Heritage Leathercare.
Manufactured by Drigate products in their Dublin facility, Heritage Leathercare is a traditional 19th century leather balsam containing original old fashioned ingredients, including beeswax. This blend of ingredients is well known in the trade for revitalising and protecting leather (and indeed the stitching) used in leathercraft. Craftspeople from all areas of the industry, including those charged with the restoration and preservation of quality leather products, testify to its' tried and tested formula.
The results obtained with Heritage Leathercare are instantaneous yet are long-lasting, leaving old tired leather revitalised and more supple, giving newer leather products a shine and protection unsurpassed by many modern (and also, in many instances, more expensive) polishes not containing our traditional ingredients.
Heritage Leathercare is generally regarded as one of the most economical leather products on the market, important in the harsh financial climate faced by many people today.

Heritage Woodcare cleans and polishes marble, car bodies and removes bitumen

Continuing my series on Heritage Woodcare, I thought I will tell you a little more about it. Did you know that it will remove tar (bitumen). This is great when cleaning wood floors that have been stuck down with bitumen also if you accidentally get tar on your leather upholstery (N.B. It is recomended that you wash your upholstery with soapy water, dry thoroughly and apply Heritage Leathercare after using the Woodcare product on leather) Also can be used to remove tar from your car body and, indeed, makes an excellent polish for car bodies after washing!

Heritage Woodcare picks up dust which makes it invaluable when it comes to hard plastics (tv's, computers. etc) and will leave glass screens with an anti-static finish, Heritage Woodcare is not recommended for use on plasma screens.

Heritage Woodcare is also ideal for use on marble, kitchen white goods, etc.

Heritage Woodcare - the only wood polish you will need!

In my last post I told you about Heritage Woodcare. In this post I am going to tell you how to use your it.

The process is really very easy. Give your bottle of Heritage a really vigorous shake and then pour a small amount into a container. Take any soft, clean cloth (in demonstrations I use dusters but any soft, clean cloth will suffice), soak in the polish, squeeze and wring the cloth out so that it is damp dry, pour the surplus polish back into the bottle (not forgetting to put the top on tight) and you are ready. All you need do now is wipe!

Heritage Woodcare takes off all the build-up of silicones, waxes, grease and grime and will remove most white heat marks, ring marks and water marks although these may need more than one application. Ideal for use on wooden kitchen cupboards, Heritage Woodcare can also be used on wood floors (natural and laminate) and wood furniture. Heritage Woodcare has been formulated for use on any wood that has a finish, (paint, varnish. french polish, wax, oil, etc.) It is not recommended for use on untreated wood.

Did you see the programme about James May and his toys tonight? These programmes take me back to my childhood ( and in answer to those snide comments, yes I have been a child and it wasn't in the dark ages!). Tonight was about Meccano and the people on the programme built a bridge out of Meccano over a canal in Liverpool, where Meccano was originally made. The series is well worth watching

A funny thing happened to me yesterday.

A funny thing happened to me yesterday. I was at The Heart of England shopping village with my wife and a friend. They were looking round the shops and I went to the Tearoom to wait for them. As I was going in, someone grabbed me and swung me round to have a good look at my jumper. I was wearing a green sweatshirt type jumper with cartoon characters on the front. The chap who swung me round said he loved these characters and when I said I couldn't remember where I bought the jumper, he offered me £10 for it. Unfortunately it was too cold to do the deal!

Only 45 days left now. Don't forget to visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop to get those gifts - Skincare, Hand crafted fabric products and of course your woodcare and leathercare.

Can I use Heritage Leathercare on my "stretched" mini

I visited the Antiques for Everyone show at the NEC yesterday. A wonderful show, I don't think I have ever seen so many quality antiques in one place before. However, among all these beautiful treasures was a display of Minis (not exactly antiques).
Pride of place in this exhibit was given to stretched mini (yes - a stretched mini) and it was beautiful. Done in white, it had 4 doors. The front end was complete although it had a removable roof, The back end had been stretched and featured only the back seat which was a single cushion leaving a lot of floorspace. It was also a convertible and the roof had been folded away. The upholstery was done in red leather and the whole vehicle really did look beautiful as I have said. Tied to the bonnet was the white ribbons for a wedding. I am sure my description is not doing it justice.
The reason I am telling you about this fabulous, (and unique as far as I know) vehicle is that it would make a wonderful advertisement for Heritage Leathercare. Used sparingly, as advised, Heritage Leathercare will keep this upholstery in an "as new" condition.

What Christmas gift keeps me warm and eases pain?

Earlier this month I told you about the Microwarm Heatwraps produced by Paston Crafts. Today I thought I will give you my personal experiences of using them.

As many of you will know, up until recently, I exhibited at shows of varying type, up and down the country, most weekends. At this time of the year it can be very cold! This is when the Heatwraps came into their own, I regularly used one of my Heatwrap demonstrators or one of my handwarmers to keep myself warm and it wasn't unknown for all my demonstrators to be in use with other exhibitors, keeping them warm.Occasionally, when my friends among the other exhibitors had their own heatwraps, I would willingly heat them in my microwave for them. I well remember one show in particular - Aston Hall by Candlelight - which happened every other year for abouy 2 weeks at the end of November ,beginning of December, starting at 5.00.pm and finishing at 10.30pm and was it cold! Another exhibitor was selling an animal shaped Heatwrap and both our microwaves were going most of the evening, either heating our demonstrators which were out on loan or heating the Heatwraps owned by our friends.

Another way I used theHeatwraps was in my van when I was sleeping over and was lucky enough to have power overnight. Having 2 in my sleeping bag, one at my feet and at my back was absolute bliss.

Heatwraps do of course give drug free relief from pain. I can truthfully say this is correct. Both myslf and family members use them when we have pain - muscular pain, back pain, pmt, etc have all been eased with the aid of the Heatwraps.

Microwarm Heatwraps and handwarmers make excellent gifts for any family member - older relatives, sports participants, females, gardeners, etc. and can be purchased online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/paston-crafts/cat_3.html

What is the best polish for leather furniture?

In my last post I told you some of the different ways you can use Heritage Leathercare.
Heritage Leathercare is based on a traditional 19th century recipe for leather balsam that has been updated to cope with modern materials and finishes, and is colourless so can be used on any colour. It is very easy to use - simply take the sponge provided, wipe over the surface of the balsam, remove any excess by scraping on the side of the container and then wipe on your leather.
It will feed, polish and protect your leather, leaving a water resistant finish.

Heritage Leathercare is ideal for use on leather furniture, car seats and upholstery, boots and shoes, bags, gloves and gauntlets, motor cycle leathers, etc. It can, in fact, be used on any leather product except for suede, nubuck or nappa leathers.

Heritage Leathercare can be purchased online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-leathercare/cat_4.html

What will rewax a wax jacket?

Having recently told you about some of the different areas where you can use Heritage Woodcare, I thought today I will tell you some of the different areas where you can use Heritage Leathercare.

Did you know it is excellent on wood? If you want to apply a colourless wax finish, look no further, your Heritage Leathercare will fulfill all your needs but will need buffing up.

Do you have a wax jacket that needs rewaxing? Again look no further, your Heritage Leathercare is just what you need.

Your tent/flysheet needs weatherproofing? Why look any further? Your Heritage Leathercare is just what you need!

Don't forget of course. that whilst Heritage Leathercare is excellent for all the above it is also perfect for leather furniture, car seats and upholstery, boots, shoes bags, gloves, in fact any leather product except suede, nubuck and nappa leathers. Being colourless, it can be used on any colour.

Heritage Leathercare can be purchased online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-leathercare/cat_4.html

What cleans hard plastics and vinyl?

Recently I have been telling you about some alternate uses for your Heritage Woodcare. I thought I will finish this series by telling you about using your Woodcare on hard plastics and vinyl.

Heritage Woodcare is excellent for use on hard plastics, televisions, computers, etc. Prepare your clean cloth in the usual way and again just wipe. The surface is cleaned, dust is collected in your cloth and will not return for about a week. If your screen is glass, you can continue on that but will need to buff up. Do NOT use on plasma screens. You can of course clean and dust your hard plastics as part of your normal routine, rather than making them a special job (or chore!)

I also mentioned Vinyl. Heritage Woodcare is also recommended for use on vinyl - domestic seating, car seats, car dashboards, even vinyl used on the "roof" of your car, etc. Again prepare your cloth in the usual way and wipe. If using on the top of your car, car seats, etc do ensure that there is nothing that can scratch the surface of the vinyl before starting the job.

Heritage Woodcare can be obtained online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-woodcare/cat_2.html

can I use Heritage Woodcare to clean my car bodywork?

Yesterday I told you how to use Heritage Woodcare to remove tar from leather. Today I am going to tell you another use for your Heritage. It is great for cleaning and polishing car bodies, kitchen white goods, etc.

On your car, wash it in the usual way to remove grit etc., prepare your clean cloth, then wipe.Your heritage will remove oil marks, bird droppings, etc., and will polishthe bodywork at the same time. The real benefit is that you do not need to buff up!

In your kitchen, whilst cleaning and polishing your cupboards, just continue wiping over the washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, etc. Again you do not need to buff up.

Heritage Woodcare can be obtained online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-woodcare/cat_2.html

How can I remove tar from leather.

I had a question left for me over the weekend from someone who wanted to know how to remove tar from his leather car seat.Apparently he had been out with his family where there had been road works and his young son got it on his shoes and then transferred it to the seats.

The answer is the same as removing bitumen. Soak a clean cloth in Heritage Woodcare, wipe over the tar mark (do ensure that no grit or anything that will scratch your leather is embedded in the tar!). Having removed the tar, then wash the seat with pure soap, ensure it is totally dry and then apply Heritage Leathercare as recommended.

The questioner then went on to ask if the recommended treatment will also remove the tar from his son's shoes. The answer is the yes, treat the shoes in the same way and they should come up the same as they were before getting tar on them.

How can I get drug free relief from aches and pains - part two

All Paston Crafts products are hand made and today I am going to tell you about 2 other products, Heat Retaining Cushions and Japanese Eye Masks.

The Heat Retaining Cushions work by using the bodies' own heat and, whilst not getting as hot as a Heatwrap, are ideal for use where you don't have access to power - outdoor events and shows, fishing trips, travelling (in a car, coach, plane, etc.), You can sit on them, use them on your back or neck and indeed many people put them under jumpers when going out in winter to keep their backs warm!
N.B. Do not microwave or heat this product.

Japanese Eye Masks give relief to tired aching eyes. Simply take the mask out of the protective bag and give it a really good squeeze (this releases oils and fragrances which gives relief to those tired eyes) you then just rest it on your eyes. For storeage, keep in the protective bag in your fridge.
N.B. Do not microwave or heat this product

Heat Retaining Cushions and Japanese Eye Masks are available online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/paston-crafts/cat_3.html

How do I get drug free relief from aches and pains?

Last time I told you about Microwarm Heatwraps. In addition to the Heatwrap featured, they also come in 2 different sizes.

Cushions. These are made from the same materials as the featured heatwrap but instead of being folded to make a sausage shape, these are folded to make a cushion shape.
The heating instructions then are the same - microwave on high for 2 - 3 minutes depending on the power of your microwave (the higher the wattage, the less time is needed!)
You can use the cushions exactly the same as the featured Heatwrap but being cushion shaped they are ideal for use on the back, kneecaps, etc.

Handwarmers These are a smaller version of the cushions and are ideal for use to heat your hands on cold days. The size, (they fit your hands!) make them ideal to give drug free relief from toothache, earache, etc.

Both products are available online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/paston.html

how can I get relief from aches and pains?

Today I am going to have a look at some of the products produced by Paston Crafts.
Paston Crafts is a Coventry based company producing hand made fabric products. Today I propose to have a detailed look at their Microwarm Heatwraps.

Measuring approximately 20" x 4" (50cms x 10 cms) and weighing just over 1.5lbs (o.680kg), Microwarm Heatwraps are recommended by doctors, osteopaths, hospitals and many other professionals in the medical profession for the relief of aches and pains.

To use Microwarm Heatwraps, simply microwave on high for 2 - 3 minutes depending upon the power of your microwave (the higher the wattage, the less time is needed) and then place your heated Heatwrap where you have the pain. Your heatwrap will retain heat for up to 90 minutes although if you can insulate it in some way (e.g. if using on your stomach, cover with a jumper or towel) it will stay warm for longer.
You can also use your heatwrap if you are cold and want to warm yourself up. Your heatwrap will give instant heat and is more effective in the short term than heaters or fires. You can often see exhibitors using Heatwraps to keep themselves warm at outside Craft Fairs in the winter months.
Heatwraps also make a safer and more effective way of heating your bed. Unlike hotwater bottles, there is no boiling water to scold yourself with, and no wet beds if they spring a leak It is however recommended that you use your heatwrap at least 6 times before using in bed to dry the grains out.

Heatwraps can also be used cold. Wrap in a plastic bag and place in your freezer for 2 - 3 hours.
You may need to experiment to find the most effective way of getting relief (e.g. for relief from a migraine does heat or cold work better? and where givesthe most telief, across your forehead or the back of the neck?)

Microwarm heatwraps can be obtained online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/paston.html

What leather product is good for leather car seats and furniture?

Continuing my look at Heritage Leathercare, today I am going to tell you how to use it and where you can use it!

As I said yesterday, Heritage Leathercare is a traditional 19th century leather balsam containing traditional old fashioned ingredients. This makes it very easy to use. Simply take the sponge provided, load it by wiping over the surface of the balsam, take off any surplus by wiping on the edge of your container (such that the surplus remains inside the container) and then wipe over your leather. When you have finished, your leather should not be greasy. If it is, you have used too much and will need to buff up, otherwise it is safe to sit on. Being colourless, Heritage Leathercare can be used on any colour.
As Heritage Leathercare leaves a water resistant finish, it is ideal for use on leather car seats. It is also ideal for motor bike leathers (including gauntlets and boots) and, being colourless, is great for all types of leather footwear, (except for suede, nubuck and nappa leathers) Heritage Leathercare can also be used on leather furniture, leather jackets and other types types of clothing, handbags, in fact any leather product except for suede, nubuck and nappa leather.

What polish is the best for leather?

Today I am going to have a look at Heritage Leathercare - also known as Celtic Leathercare.

Heritage (Celtic) Leathercare, like it's sister product Heritage Woodcare, is made by Drigate Products in their Dublin manufacturing facility.

It is a tradional 19th century leather balsam containing original old fashioned ingredients (including beeswax) well known in the trade for revitalising and protecting leather (and indeed the stitching) used in leathercraft. Various craftspeople, and many professionals connected with leather products, from vintage car enthusiasts through to showjumpers, from antique book restorers through to butlers employed in stately homes and palaces, testify to its' tried and tested formula.

The results obtained with Heritage Leathercare are instantaneous yet are long lasting, leaving old tired leather revitalised and more supple, giving newer leather products a shine and protection unsurpassed by modern polishes not containing our traditional ingredients. Heritage Leathercare is generally regarded as one of the most economical leather products on the market in this day and age.

How can I use Heritage Woodcare, what can I use it on?

I said I was going to tell you how to use Heritage Woodcare. It is very easy to use!
Give your bottle a really good shake, pour some into a container, take any soft and clean cloth (a duster, piece of old tee shirt or sheeting, etc.), soak in your polish, squeeze and wring your cloth out till it is damp dry, pour any surplus polish back into your bottle and then just wipe.

Heritage Woodcare is ideal for use on wood floors (laminate and real wood), wood furniture, panneling, etc. , really any treated (varnished, painted, waxed, oiled, etc.) wood.
Heritage Woodcare removes the build-up of silicones, waxes, grease and grime and will also take off most white heat marks, ring marks and water marks. This makes it great for use in the kitchen and bathroom.
Although it is called Woodcare, your Heritage can be used on many other surfaces - hard plastics. marble, etc. In addition it can also be used on painted metal (car bodies, white kitchen goods, etc.)

Heritage Woodcare can be purchased online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/wood.html

What is Heritage Woodcare?

In my last post I talked about the benefits of using Heritage (sometimes known as Celtic) Woodcare in the cleaning and restoration of wood in churches and offices. Heritage is also beneficial in many other areas - domestic, stately homes, hotels, restaurants, to name but a few.

Today I thought it might be useful to look at Heritage (Celtic) Woodcare in greater depth.

Manufactured by Drigate Products in their Dublin manufacturing facility, Heritage Woodcare is a twentyfirst century superior product based on a nineteenth century secret formula known, at that time, only to the grandmasters of the furniture crafts. The keen rivalry between these skilled craftsmen brought about a constant searching for absolute perfection in the preservation, cleaning and polishing of wooden furniture and many a priceless antique piece to be seen today gives testimony to the success of their skills.
In order to get the desired results, these craftsmen would spend hours, and sometimes days working on a single article. Few people, if any, in this busy modern world have the time, to say nothing of the patience, of the old masters, so, after much comprehensive research, helped by enlightened technology, the age-old formula has been updated and will now give the same outstanding results in a fraction of the time.

Tomorrow I will look at how you use Heritage Woodcare and where you can use it.

Heritage Woodcare is available online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/wood.html
