What Christmas gift keeps me warm and eases pain?

Earlier this month I told you about the Microwarm Heatwraps produced by Paston Crafts. Today I thought I will give you my personal experiences of using them.

As many of you will know, up until recently, I exhibited at shows of varying type, up and down the country, most weekends. At this time of the year it can be very cold! This is when the Heatwraps came into their own, I regularly used one of my Heatwrap demonstrators or one of my handwarmers to keep myself warm and it wasn't unknown for all my demonstrators to be in use with other exhibitors, keeping them warm.Occasionally, when my friends among the other exhibitors had their own heatwraps, I would willingly heat them in my microwave for them. I well remember one show in particular - Aston Hall by Candlelight - which happened every other year for abouy 2 weeks at the end of November ,beginning of December, starting at 5.00.pm and finishing at 10.30pm and was it cold! Another exhibitor was selling an animal shaped Heatwrap and both our microwaves were going most of the evening, either heating our demonstrators which were out on loan or heating the Heatwraps owned by our friends.

Another way I used theHeatwraps was in my van when I was sleeping over and was lucky enough to have power overnight. Having 2 in my sleeping bag, one at my feet and at my back was absolute bliss.

Heatwraps do of course give drug free relief from pain. I can truthfully say this is correct. Both myslf and family members use them when we have pain - muscular pain, back pain, pmt, etc have all been eased with the aid of the Heatwraps.

Microwarm Heatwraps and handwarmers make excellent gifts for any family member - older relatives, sports participants, females, gardeners, etc. and can be purchased online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/paston-crafts/cat_3.html

What is the best polish for leather furniture?

In my last post I told you some of the different ways you can use Heritage Leathercare.
Heritage Leathercare is based on a traditional 19th century recipe for leather balsam that has been updated to cope with modern materials and finishes, and is colourless so can be used on any colour. It is very easy to use - simply take the sponge provided, wipe over the surface of the balsam, remove any excess by scraping on the side of the container and then wipe on your leather.
It will feed, polish and protect your leather, leaving a water resistant finish.

Heritage Leathercare is ideal for use on leather furniture, car seats and upholstery, boots and shoes, bags, gloves and gauntlets, motor cycle leathers, etc. It can, in fact, be used on any leather product except for suede, nubuck or nappa leathers.

Heritage Leathercare can be purchased online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-leathercare/cat_4.html

What will rewax a wax jacket?

Having recently told you about some of the different areas where you can use Heritage Woodcare, I thought today I will tell you some of the different areas where you can use Heritage Leathercare.

Did you know it is excellent on wood? If you want to apply a colourless wax finish, look no further, your Heritage Leathercare will fulfill all your needs but will need buffing up.

Do you have a wax jacket that needs rewaxing? Again look no further, your Heritage Leathercare is just what you need.

Your tent/flysheet needs weatherproofing? Why look any further? Your Heritage Leathercare is just what you need!

Don't forget of course. that whilst Heritage Leathercare is excellent for all the above it is also perfect for leather furniture, car seats and upholstery, boots, shoes bags, gloves, in fact any leather product except suede, nubuck and nappa leathers. Being colourless, it can be used on any colour.

What cleans hard plastics and vinyl?

Recently I have been telling you about some alternate uses for your Heritage Woodcare. I thought I will finish this series by telling you about using your Woodcare on hard plastics and vinyl.

Heritage Woodcare is excellent for use on hard plastics, televisions, computers, etc. Prepare your clean cloth in the usual way and again just wipe. The surface is cleaned, dust is collected in your cloth and will not return for about a week. If your screen is glass, you can continue on that but will need to buff up. Do NOT use on plasma screens. You can of course clean and dust your hard plastics as part of your normal routine, rather than making them a special job (or chore!)

I also mentioned Vinyl. Heritage Woodcare is also recommended for use on vinyl - domestic seating, car seats, car dashboards, even vinyl used on the "roof" of your car, etc. Again prepare your cloth in the usual way and wipe. If using on the top of your car, car seats, etc do ensure that there is nothing that can scratch the surface of the vinyl before starting the job.

can I use Heritage Woodcare to clean my car bodywork?

Yesterday I told you how to use Heritage Woodcare to remove tar from leather. Today I am going to tell you another use for your Heritage. It is great for cleaning and polishing car bodies, kitchen white goods, etc.

On your car, wash it in the usual way to remove grit etc., prepare your clean cloth, then wipe.Your heritage will remove oil marks, bird droppings, etc., and will polishthe bodywork at the same time. The real benefit is that you do not need to buff up!

In your kitchen, whilst cleaning and polishing your cupboards, just continue wiping over the washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, etc. Again you do not need to buff up.

How can I remove tar from leather.

I had a question left for me over the weekend from someone who wanted to know how to remove tar from his leather car seat.Apparently he had been out with his family where there had been road works and his young son got it on his shoes and then transferred it to the seats.

The answer is the same as removing bitumen. Soak a clean cloth in Heritage Woodcare, wipe over the tar mark (do ensure that no grit or anything that will scratch your leather is embedded in the tar!). Having removed the tar, then wash the seat with pure soap, ensure it is totally dry and then apply Heritage Leathercare as recommended.

The questioner then went on to ask if the recommended treatment will also remove the tar from his son's shoes. The answer is the yes, treat the shoes in the same way and they should come up the same as they were before getting tar on them.

How can I get drug free relief from aches and pains - part two

All Paston Crafts products are hand made and today I am going to tell you about 2 other products, Heat Retaining Cushions and Japanese Eye Masks.

The Heat Retaining Cushions work by using the bodies' own heat and, whilst not getting as hot as a Heatwrap, are ideal for use where you don't have access to power - outdoor events and shows, fishing trips, travelling (in a car, coach, plane, etc.), You can sit on them, use them on your back or neck and indeed many people put them under jumpers when going out in winter to keep their backs warm!
N.B. Do not microwave or heat this product.

Japanese Eye Masks give relief to tired aching eyes. Simply take the mask out of the protective bag and give it a really good squeeze (this releases oils and fragrances which gives relief to those tired eyes) you then just rest it on your eyes. For storeage, keep in the protective bag in your fridge.
N.B. Do not microwave or heat this product

How do I get drug free relief from aches and pains?

Last time I told you about Microwarm Heatwraps. In addition to the Heatwrap featured, they also come in 2 different sizes.

Cushions. These are made from the same materials as the featured heatwrap but instead of being folded to make a sausage shape, these are folded to make a cushion shape.
The heating instructions then are the same - microwave on high for 2 - 3 minutes depending on the power of your microwave (the higher the wattage, the less time is needed!)
You can use the cushions exactly the same as the featured Heatwrap but being cushion shaped they are ideal for use on the back, kneecaps, etc.

Handwarmers These are a smaller version of the cushions and are ideal for use to heat your hands on cold days. The size, (they fit your hands!) make them ideal to give drug free relief from toothache, earache, etc.

Both products are available online, visit www.heritagepolish.com/paston.html

how can I get relief from aches and pains?

Today I am going to have a look at some of the products produced by Paston Crafts.
Paston Crafts is a Coventry based company producing hand made fabric products. Today I propose to have a detailed look at their Microwarm Heatwraps.

Measuring approximately 20" x 4" (50cms x 10 cms) and weighing just over 1.5lbs (o.680kg), Microwarm Heatwraps are recommended by doctors, osteopaths, hospitals and many other professionals in the medical profession for the relief of aches and pains.

To use Microwarm Heatwraps, simply microwave on high for 2 - 3 minutes depending upon the power of your microwave (the higher the wattage, the less time is needed) and then place your heated Heatwrap where you have the pain. Your heatwrap will retain heat for up to 90 minutes although if you can insulate it in some way (e.g. if using on your stomach, cover with a jumper or towel) it will stay warm for longer.
You can also use your heatwrap if you are cold and want to warm yourself up. Your heatwrap will give instant heat and is more effective in the short term than heaters or fires. You can often see exhibitors using Heatwraps to keep themselves warm at outside Craft Fairs in the winter months.
Heatwraps also make a safer and more effective way of heating your bed. Unlike hotwater bottles, there is no boiling water to scold yourself with, and no wet beds if they spring a leak It is however recommended that you use your heatwrap at least 6 times before using in bed to dry the grains out.

Heatwraps can also be used cold. Wrap in a plastic bag and place in your freezer for 2 - 3 hours.
You may need to experiment to find the most effective way of getting relief (e.g. for relief from a migraine does heat or cold work better? and where givesthe most telief, across your forehead or the back of the neck?)
