Comments - from "Dave" & "anonymous"!

I have had 2 comments about my post "Green Angel Skincare has now joined Facebook"

The first from "Dave" asking for the link. If I can answer you Dave and anyone else looking for the link, Thankyou. Firstly for reading my blog and secondly for drawing my attention to something I had not thought of. I am a novice when it comes to computers and especially when it comes to social networking. I will get there eventually and with Jiali's help (and also with the help from Mark at B2B)

The second comment from "anonymous" telling me I have to have a page before announcing it! My initial reaction to comments of this type and where respondents hide behind "anonymous" is that the only thing to do with them is delete them. However, he (or she) has done me a favour in that they have told me that my Facebook entry appears to be difficult to find. It does however tell me that my blog is read and acted on.

Taking both these comments together means there is still a lot of work to be done and to both respondents I say Thankyou for reading my blog, taking an interest and for taking the trouble to leave a comment (even though one respondent had to hide behind "anonymous" and being sarcastic!) . I will try my best to act on your suggestions.

Don't forget, you can find all Heritage Polish, Green Angel Skincare and Paston Craft products here.

How do I use Green Angel Seaweed Powder as a bath tonic?

To use your green Angel Seaweed Powder, put 2 tablespoonfuls into a very hot bath and leave for 10 minutes for the seaweed to infuse into the water Allow extra time for the water to cool to a comfortable temperature. Rest and relax in the bath for at least 20 minutes, giving yourself time to benefit from the therapeutic properties of the seaweed. Gently pat the skin dry with a soft towel.

What can I do about stress? Green Angel Seaweed Powder

I have been reading a lot recently about seaweed, or sea vegetables as they are sometimes called. Seaweed is a natural, rich source of many of the vitamins and trace elements vital to continuing good health.

There are many ways that we can take advantage of all this natural bounty. You can cook with seaweed and there are many recipes around to help us to do so. Seaweed can also be incorporated into skincare products or ground into a powder with many uses. It is this latter that I am going to tell you about.Green Angel Seaweed Powder is not only therapeutic on a physical level but also on a mental and emotional one too.

In this post I am going to tell you how and why to use it as a Bath Tonic. Green Angel Seaweed Powder helps soothe and gently ease away the tensions of the day - the aching muscles, the irritability, the headaches and the insomnia, When tension and stress continue over a period of time, the nervous system may become exhausted and enthusiasm for living melts away. Green Angel Seaweed powder gives support to those suffering from anxiety, grief, shock, depression, exhaustion and also helps to relieve arthritic and rheumatic pain

To use your Green Angel Seaweed Powder, run your bath with hot water only, put 2 tablespoons of powder into the bath whilst the water is running, (do not allow the bath to get too full as you will later put cold water in), leave for 10 minutes for the seaweed to infuse into the bathwater, put in sufficient cold water to make the bath comfortable, rest and relax in the bath for at least 20 minutes to benefit from the therapeutic properties of the seaweed.Gently pat yourself dry with a soft bath towel.

What cleans and polishes my kitchen.

In my post of 12th March, I introduced you to Heritage Woodcare. You know, this is a really versatile polish with so many applications. In this post I propse to tell you how to use it to clean and polish your kitchen - cupboard doors, white goods, cooker hood, etc. I did say it had so many applications!

You first take your bottle of polish, give it a really good shake and pour some into a container. Take any clean, soft and lint-free cloth, soak it in your polish, squeeze and wring your cloth out till it is only damp dry. What is left in your container you then pour back into your bottle, not forgetting to put the top back on properly (as I have discovered to my cost when going to shake my bottle!) You are now ready and have done the really hard part of the job.

All you do now is wipe with no buffing up. Your kitchen table, cupboard doors - all you do is wipe! If they go streaky, not to worry, that is the polish doing its job of removing the build up. Wipe the surface over daily till all the build up has gone. Heritage Woodcare takes off all the build up of silicones, waxes, grease and grime.

I mentioned your cooker hood. If it has a build up of hard grease, when preparing your cloth, just squeeze and do not wring it out, wipe over the hood last thing at night, do this for several nights and the oils will penetrate, softening the build up so, eventually you will just wipe the grease off.

I also talked about white goods - your washing machine, dish washer, etc. Whilst wiping over your cupboard doors, etc. just carry on and wipe over your machines. They will come up clean and sparkling.

Job done!

This is my 200th post. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since I started my blog on 25th November 2008.In the first month of blogging I only posted 4 blogs and talked about some of the shows I was doing. Looking back it made me realise the indications for shows were apparent even then as , even though they were small shows, they did point to times being tough.

What can I use to clean and polish my wood?

I have, in the last two posts, given you some tips on using Heritage Woodcare. I will, therefore, use this post to introduce Heritage Woodcare to you.

Made in their Dublin facility by Drigate Products, and sometimes known as Celtic Woodcare,Heritage Woodcare is a twentyfirst century superior product based on a nineteenth century secret formula known only to the grandmasters of the furniture crafts. The keen rivalry between these skilled craftsmen brought about a constant searching for absolute perfection in the preservation, cleaning and polishing of wooden furniture and many priceless, antique pieces seen today give testimony to their success. Few people today have the time or patience of the old masters so, after much comprehensive research aided by modern technology, the age old formula has been up-dated to give the same outstanding results in a fraction of the time.

Heritage Woodcare is very easy to use. You first need to give the bottle a really good shake, pour some of the polish into a container, take any soft, clean cloth, soak in the polish, squeeze and ring your cloth out so that it is damp dry, pour the remaining polish back into your bottle not forgetting to screw the top on and you are ready. All you do now is wipe. Heritage Woodcare takes off all the buildup of silicones, waxes, grease and grime. It will, at the same time, remove most white heat marks, ring marks and water marks.

Use your Heritage on wood furniture, wood floors, in the kitchen, etc.

Can I use my Heritage Woodcare to polish my car?

In my recent posts, I have been discussing alternate uses for Heritage Woodcare. Something else you may not know about is it makes an excellent polish for use on treated (painted) metal.

This means that whist you are using your Heritage for cleaning your wood cupboard doors in the kitchen, you can carry on and clean and polish your white goods (dishwasher, washing machine, etc.)

You have washed your car and realise you have run out of car polish. Not to worry, use your Heritage. It does an excellent job, is oil based so does the protection of wax polishes and has the advantage that you do not need to buff up.

So, Keep your Heritage Woodcare handy, it has so many uses apart from just wood!

How do I remove bitumen from leather?

In my last post I told you how to remove bitumen from a wood floor. In this post I am going to pass on a tip given to me by one of my customers at one of the shows I attended.

He told me he was in his brand new Jaguar car with cream leather upholstery. As he was driving, he went through this area where they had been relaying the road surface. Somehow, a piece of grit covered in tar got between the seat and his trousers, getting tar on both. According to my customer, his trousers were ruined, but he was able to remove the tar from his leather by wiping with a cloth soaked in Heritage Woodcare. As it was a fairly recent event, I advised him to wash his seat with soapy water, dry it thoroughly and treat with Heritage Leathercare.

Both products are avaiable online. For Heritage Woodcare, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-woodcare/cat_2.html. For Heritage Leathercare, visit www.heritagepolish.com/shop/heritage-leathercare/cat_4.html

Removing bitumen from a parquet floor, maintenance of a parquet floor

I am getting comments about removing bitumen, particularly from parquet floors.

This was a problem I experienced myself. Having taken up the carpet in my hall, (the original intention being to replace it) we discovered this beautiful parquet floor. My wife was still thinking about replacing the carpet but eventually agreed to displaying the parquet floor on condition I kept it clean.

My first job was to sweep it (2 or 3 times) in order to remove all dust, etc.I then got down on my hands and knees (I could do that in those days!) and, using Scotchbrite, (a non-abrasive scourer) soaked in Heritage Woodcare and sqeezed, I scrubbed the floor. I was very pleased to discover that, as I was scrubbing, not only was the grime removed, but so was the bitumen that had squeezed up between the tiles and the spots of paint.

When I had finished scrubbing the floor, it looked really good, clean and with a slight sheen.

To keep the floor looking good, I now use a squeegee mop, soaked in Heritage Woodcare and mop the floor, having swept it first. The floor is usually slightly damp so I give it 15minutes to dry before walking on it.

How do I use Green Angel Seaweed Powder to get help and relief from Cellulite

To conclude my series of posts looking at the benefits of Green Angel Seaweed Powder and how to use it I am going to briefly examine Cellulite and how Green Angel Seaweed Powder can give help and relief from this common problem.

According to Wikipaedia, "Cellulite describes a common paraphysiological cosmetic condition that is claimed to occur in most women, where the skin of the lower limbs, abdomen and pelvic region becomes dimpled. Cellulite is a description rather than a physical object"

Many women, particularly, complain about this and feel it disfigures their appearance. The use of Green Angel Seaweed Powder, in the treatment of cellulite has been found to hve some success.

To use your Green Angel Seaweed Powder, mix one tablespoonful to a loose cream with boiling water. Cool and apply to desired area. Cover with clingfilm and then with a warm towel Leave for a maximum of 20 minutes. Shower with warm water and then with cool water. Drink plenty of cold water, up to 8 glasses per day. Use twice a week for a month.

How do I use Green Angel Seaweed Powder as a foot tonic?

Continuing my theme of using Green Angel Seaweed Powderand having told you how to use it as Bath Tonic and a Facial Tonic, in this post I am going to tell you how to use it as a Foot Tonic.

We have all come home after a trying day when we seem to have been on our feet all the time - at work, traipsing round the shops, taking the children to a theme park, etc. and there is no better way to relax than to put our feet in a foot bath. Now we can take that one stage further by adding Green Angel Seaweed Powder to the foot bath and really relieving hot, swollen feet.

Add one tablespoonful of Green Angel Seaweed Powder to a basin of boiling water and infuse for 10 minutes or so, allow enough time for the water to be cool enough to be comfortable. Soak your feet for 10 to 15 minutes. this is soothing, therapeutic and helps the circulation around the feet. Pat your feet dry and apply Green Angel Rescue Cream.
